Hiking with Alpacas
Enjoy a relaxed and peaceful hike alongside the farm’s alpacas.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, unique, and enjoyable experience, book an alpaca hike with us! The tour lasts approximately 25–45 minutes.
Alpacas at Glasriket’s Moose Park
At Glasriket’s Moose Park, we have two groups of alpacas. You are welcome to feed the alpacas while they are in their pasture. The staff provides leaves for feeding. Once a year, our alpacas are sheared, and their wool is turned into yarn, which is available for purchase in the Moose Shop.
Hiking with Alpacas
The hike starts at the Moose Shop, where we take a shorter walk with the alpacas on a halter. Before the hike, you will receive an introduction on how to walk with an alpaca and learn the name of your alpaca. Afterward, you’ll be enchanted by the alpacas’ charm as we set off on our walk.
The minimum age to walk with an alpaca is 13 years.

Facts about Alpacas
Alpacas are charming and social animals native to the Andes in South America, where they have been vital to local communities for thousands of years. They belong to the camelid family and are closely related to llamas, although they are smaller and more graceful.
Alpacas are best known for their soft and valuable fleece, which is used to create high-quality textiles. They are social creatures that thrive in groups and are often friendly and curious toward humans. With their calm demeanor and adorable appearance, alpacas have become popular on farms and as therapy animals around the world.
